NYC Triathlon – Nautica New York City

The Nautica New York City Triathlon, or NYC triathlon, includes a 1500 meter Hudson swim. The point to point swim course is next to the seawall to reduce the effect of the current.
There are kayakers and other water safety team members frame the swim lane from start to finish. Athletes start out by swimming south and exit near the 79th Street Boat Basin before entering the transition area.
You don’t need to worry about getting shots to swim in the river. The Hudson River is not only one of America’s most famous waterways, but one of the cleanest in New York.
From the transition area, the next event in the NYC triathlon is the 40 kilometer bike course. Athletes enter the northbound entrance of the Henry Hudson Highway.
The course is moderate climb out of Manhattan and over the Hudson River Bridge. The course continues south on the Mosholu and U-turns at Gunhill Road in the Bronx.
Athletes will then go back to the Henry Hudson Parkway and ride south in the northbound land to 57th Street. Here cyclists will find another U-turn to head back to the transition area. The roads will be closed to regular vehicular traffic.
After the bike course, the next event in the New York City triathlon is the 10 kilometer run. Runners will exit Riverside Park at 72nd Street and run across into Central Park.
Runners will complete a clockwise loop in Central Park. The finish line is on Dead Road, just west of the bandshell on 72nd Street.
If you are registering as an individual, the entry fee is $500. If you are registering as a relay team the entry fee is $600.
In addition, the 2008 NYC Tri Club Championship will be awarded to the triathlon club with the cumulative 3 fastest men, 2 fastest women, and one member 40 and older.
