Participating in a triathlon is no small feat. Any person that consciously decides to participate in a triathlon needs to be in good physical condition.

The combination of swimming, biking and running all in one day can put a person’s body through a lot on a physical level. Because of this, it is highly recommended that individuals receive the proper training before participating in a triathlon.

There are a number of triathlon exercises which are necessary to prepare the body for a sporting event such as a triathlon. It is recommended that anyone that wants to participate in a triathlon obtain the assistance of a personal trainer.

When creating an exercise program for a triathlete it is very important to have balance. The exercise regimen should consist of a variety of exercises which will promote flexibility, strength and endurance.

There are certain events within the triathlon which may require more flexibility such as swimming while there are other events that will require more endurance such as the running portion of the race. There should be a very balance between the types of training exercises in an exercise program.

To prepare for the swimming portion of the triathlon there are a number of different triathlon exercises that can be adopted. Many trainers will have people complete exercises in the pool. Water creates resistance while a person is practicing certain movements. This resistance of the water is similar to using weights.

For the cycling portion of the exercise, a trainer may have the athlete train on a stationary bike that is commonly found in a gym. Another way to build stamina for the cycling portion of the triathlon is to cycle each day.

Cycling certain distances each day can help a person build up their stamina for the long cycling distances that are a part of the triathlon. The trainer may increase the distances that a person cycles on regular intervals in order to build stamina.

The final portion of the race is running and it is very necessary to train for this portion of the race. Training for the running portion of the race is so important because it is usually the final event, and it can be hard for an athlete to find the strength to finish after swimming and cycling.

Daily jogging should be a part of every triathlete’s exercise regimen. Over the course of weeks the trainer should mix up the running so that the athlete has variations in running times and environments in order to build strength and speed.

All individuals that are considering participating in a triathlon should commit to a very intense triathlon exercises. Developing an established exercise regimen is a must for anyone that is interested in participating in a triathlon. Having the assistance of a trainer is recommended in order to ensure that a person is properly preparing the body for the triathlon.
