Womens Triathlon Categories

Whoever said men are stronger than women has definitely not been in a womens triathlon.
A triathlon is a sporting event where a participant finishes a race of three events which are swimming for half a mile, biking for 12 miles and running for 3 miles.
If you are at least 14 years old, you are already eligible to be a triathlete. If you are a novice or if it is your first time to enter this kind of race, it is your responsibility to make sure that you are physically ready for something as intense as this.
There are many training programs also that you can join that will help you be physically, mentally and spiritually prepared for this.
If you are woman joining this event, there is no difference in the requirements. But you may always choose an all women event.
One of the womens triathlon in the world has six individual categories. Depending on where you think you best belong, you may choose to be in the group that is classified according to age, mix age, Athena, women in uniform, physically challenged, elite and a relay team.
You would want to be categorized according to age group if you want to compete against women of the same age group. This will give you a fairer chance in competing, especially if you are already slowed down by your age. The age groups are determined in a 5-year interval.
You would also want to compete in the mixed age group category if you want to race with or compete against family members, your friends, etc.
You would also want to compete in the Athena category if you want to compete against other women of the same height.
You would also want to compete in the category of women in uniform if you are a police officer, military officer and the like and you want to compete against other officers.
Join the physically challenged category if you qualify according to the specifications, the elite category if you have joined previous races already and you want to be classified according to that result, and the relay team, the last category in womens triathlon, if you want to split the events with other people.
